“Soviet story” – quick “coca-cola” comment
(+ photo from the film)
My dear friends,
A friend of m
ine gave me a DVD last Sunday, “The Soviet Story”.
Only about two weeks ago I mentioned (once again) to our “antifascists” of Croatia that they’re too stressed out by accusing rare youth raising a hand up at some concert – it doesn’t say they’re instantly fascists or provocateurs as all media (including ‘patriotic’ one) starts hurling at them instantly… for tarnishing the image of Croatia etc. I don’t advocate such things, but can anyone get a rest and let people move freely without being labelled by various watchdogs for this and that…. Unless they, too, wish to “create a new life form” (as Hitler and Stalin in the said “documentary”) and change the nature of humans…
But if such hand movements should be indeed “ideological” – even when the youth is waving to some modern songs at some patriotic concert – why no one jumped up and shouted – communists!
Even the film author Edvins Snore who presented these slides (below) quickly forgot them and ended up being shocked by Russian parliamentarians saluting the audience in a “nazi” way. Little convincing, after he presented these slides and portrayed modern Russia as nostalgic of Soviet era (via Putin’s mouth), but it’s the least of contradictions…
I share them for your enjoyment below (“print screen scene” from the film).
But as for the film, it’s a pity such a great tragedy was used for some poor propaganda of modern politics. It seems to me it’s more a Jewish Story than a “Soviet” one.
Why do they still celebrate Josip Broz Tito, if they’re so sensitive to other people’s tragedies…. Using other people’s tears and victims to enhance their stories? As they do with Vukovar (I think I pointed out my objection a few years back…).
This documentary just doesn’t work. I never watched a story on such a great tragedy with so much disgust at hypocrisy interpolated in it. I mean, if you speak of Russian victims, speak of them please, Mr Snore, don’t mention Jews and Hitler and then show real victims of communists who have nothing to do with Jews (it’s at least how I consider the presentation of facts – one idea, one scene/paragraph….the rest to me is “Coca-Cola”.)
I’m of course bouleversee with the mixed filling the author leaves the spectator with. Not quite a lost time, but is it a new way of “reinventing” everything? I mean, I myself am not convinced that some documents showing Gestapo and Soviet stamps are real, perhaps Putin is right. Overall “quality” of the film permits the suspicion, in any case. Although, anything is possible (my uncle was an SS, refusing a higher rank which would have sent him on Soviet front, while he only wished to fight for Independent State of Croatia in WWII…. And help his brother in Black Legion … Jews certainly know this, they know I’m not a monster, worry not….! Hm, is it possible that Stalin and Hitler collaborated, who knows!)
Can’t believe such a poor documentary is presented to European parliament… To convince them of which atrocity exactly?
No wonder Russian minister talks of “Jewish fascism”….
I read recently that some Croatian “antifascists” (quite representative of global freemasonry trend) also find that communism became bad when it started acting as fascism! The film “Soviet Story” (well, “Soviet”) says at least what was communism before fascism appeared (which I also tried to explain while quoting the birth dates of both ideologies, but it only infuriated my patriotic “antifascists” so I gave up, really…..)
However, the thought is provoking. “Jewish fascism” – impossible, they ruin families, unlike Mussolini, who protected them (my Italian friend criticized him only for higher taxes for singles…. She was single, which is perhaps why….) Hence, Russian defence minister was not quite precise, perhaps.
Yet not so bad, our dear communists are anti-Semites, too! Those who were so eager to fight the “enemies of the state”!
I hope my ex history prof doesn’t see it, he does believe in 6,000,000 Jewish victims (I learned in Canadian Jewish institute they were 5, but it was 3-4 years ago, documents are pouring out…), but I am certain (from what I learned about history) he wouldn’t call it a historical documentary either…. Anyone would?
Coca-Cola,
The film archives on Russian tragedies are considered authentic, however.
If I only dared to publish this on my blog, for my “antifascist” friends, freedom, sweet freedom, where it is… Or perhaps I should? I guess, I’ve got enough trouble already.
Salutations de mes écureuils et moi pareillement,
Ps. Our friend wished to hear my opinion on the film, and I thought sharing a few quick notes would be interesting for those who didn’t see it…. At least, it’s worth seeing the photo below!!! “Nazi Salute” or “Communist salute” then…?
